Light is everything, How you deal with light can actually change the atmosphere of a space. Whether you reveal the source or not, if it’s direct light, or if it’s light that is diffused and just washed on the wall: the different qualities of light create different atmospheres.
It was a conscious decision not to incorporate the symbolic elements,’ she explains, ‘because symbols sort of create difference between people; and I thought this should be a structure that is approachable for everybody. Anybody should be able to come in.

The Bait Ur Rouf Mosque was one of six winners of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2016, along with the Friendship Centre in Gaibandha. This $1 million award, presented by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, recognizes architectural excellence in Muslim communities around the world. The award jury chose the mosque for pushing the boundaries of how a religious space should look and creating a design that elevates the spirit.
Bahadur Shah Park
Bahadur Shah Park was known as Victoria Park initially. This is located at Lakkhibazar in Old Dhaka. It has roads all-around of it. The main history behind this park is, during the Sepoy’s mutiny against British, hundreds of sepoys and their civil compatriots were publicly hanged, around the year 1857. Later on, at 1858, the Nawab Khwaja Abdul Ghani took an initiative to build a monument to commemorate the Sepoys. The park has recently been restored under the project ” জল সবুজে ঢাকা ” led by renowned architect Rafiq Azam, architecture for green living.
